Thirsty Thursdays: Drink Shop & Do

Thirsty Thursdays: Drink Shop & Do

This week, I’m reviewing Drink Shop & Do. The name says it all really…here’s my verdict.

Drink
There is a good, varied drinks menu but the main focus is cocktails, which are grouped under the themes ‘Drink’, ‘Shop’ and ‘Do’. They are well priced at around £8 each and pretty tasty. Our favourite was The Sherbert One – this may have something to do with the fact that there are actually sweets in it!
We did have some light bites as well which were fine but you don’t come here for the food – it’s all about the drinks, shop and activities funnily enough.
Shop
The entrance of the venue has shelves stacked full of goodies available to purchase – from cushions to cards. But it doesn’t stop there! Everything in Drink Shop Do is for sale. EVERYTHING. Yep, even the furniture. My favourite products were the jewellery pieces by Wolf & Moon.
Do
We chose to attend the Papier Mache Monster Mash, a night of reliving childhood art classes and realising you’re still no good at it. As we went during Valentine’s Day week, the theme was Love Monsters, which should be obvious from our wonderful creation…
When we arrived, we were given everything we needed to get started – balloons, newspaper, glue, tissue paper, feathers, googley eyes and much more. We got stuck in straight away and instantly got into the competitve spirit, checking out the competition and making adjustments as we went along. It was great fun and I think it would be perfect for a team building activity. Just try not to get too competitive!
In addition to Papier Mache Monster Mash, you can ‘do’ Dance Class (think Single Ladies and Crazy in Love), Lego Robots and The Dye Workshop to name a few. You can also enjoy an afternoon tea with a twist on weekends.
The Fine Print
Most events are free to attend but those which are paid tend to be around the £10 mark. Make sure you book in advance to ensure you have a table but you can just turn up on the day and try your luck. Drinks are reasonable (a glass of wine for a fiver!) and if you fancy a late one, the downstairs bar has DJs and dancing until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.
Final Word
Drink Shop & Do is a classic ‘does what it says on the tin’ kind of place – and it does it really well. I recommend going somewhere else for dinner or a quick bite and then heading here for drinks and laughs galore. Explore the different ‘do’ options on the website and get in touch to book below. Enjoy!
