Travelling for work can be quite exciting, especially when you’re early in your career, but it can also be stressful. One of these stress factors is…what do you pack?! I’m off to New York for Advertising Week today, so I thought I would put together a list of essentials that I’ll be taking with me.
1. Board Meeting Chic. It’s a good idea to have your smartest outfit packed, just in case you get told about the most important meeting of your career with an hour’s notice. Here’s mine – boring but classic – a black dress and blazer with heels. Dress and blazer from Next, shoes from Office.
2. Dress Down Daisy. Even if you work in a very corporate industry, it’s good to have a smart casual outfit with you for the more relaxed days. You can make it more or less dressy with heels or flats. Trousers from Dorothy Perkins, top from New Look, Blazer from Y.A.S via SecretSales, shoes from Office.
3. Out on the Town. Schmoozing is almost always on the cards when travelling for work. A nice, simple evening outfit should always have a place in your suitcase – I love this one because it reminds me of Carrie Bradshaw 😉 Top from French Connection, dress from Topshop, shoes from Dorothy Perkins.
4. Rest and Recovery. On your journey home, you’ll want to be comfortable. Take a nice lounging around outfit that doesn’t restrict you from getting some sleep in the airport/on the plane. Top from Next, leggings from American Apparel, trainers from Nike.
So these are my work travel essentials – I hope they help you too! What is your must have outfit for business travel? Let me know in the comments 🙂
