Happy Workout Wednesday! This week, I wanted to share with you a post from My Little App on the best exercises to do with your BFF. This is a great way to have fun while you work out and save some money as you can do these at home/in the park – win, win! Though it’s probably not something to suggest to that friend who ‘doesn’t do hugs’…
1. The Diamond Stretch
Sit facing each other with your legs in a V shape and your feet touching. Hold hands and let your friend lean towards you, helping him/her by gently pulling until they can feel the stretch. Hold for 60 seconds then switch.
2. Table Top Dips
Okay, take yourself back to drama class and ‘become a table’ i.e. put your hands beneath your shoulders and feet beneath your knees with your hips up. Now try not to collapse while your friend tricep dips with their hands on your knees.
3. Entwined Squat
This works best if you are about the same height but could also be comedy gold if you’re not. Stand back to back and link arms. Slowly walk your feet out, leaning on each other for support. Now lower down into squat position and hold for as long as you can. This is where your competitive spirit kicks in – don’t be the first to back down!
4. Army Crawl
Get into downward dog position. Your friend will then crawl underneath you and get into downward dog, then you crawl underneath them and get into downward dog and so on and so on.
5. Towel Run
Get a long towel and wrap it around your friend’s waist. Make sure you hold onto the ends tightly, drawing back your shoulder blades and keeping a straight back. Your friend should then try and sprint away. If you are equally strong, no one should move…unlikely!
These are some great workout ideas and I will definitely be convincing my friends to try them with me 😀
